Dhaka, July 2, 2026 - The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the retail prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and auto gas, lowering the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder by Tk 357 and auto gas by Tk 16.53 per liter.
The revised prices, announced by BERC Chairman Jalal Ahmed, came into effect from 6:00 pm on July 2 and are mandatory for all licensed LPG marketing companies.

Under the new pricing, a 12kg LPG cylinder will now retail at Tk 1,528, down from Tk 1,885. The retail price of auto gas has been reduced to Tk 70.40 per liter from Tk 86.93 per liter.
BERC also lowered the retail price of privately marketed LPG to Tk 123.55 per kilogram, compared with the previous Tk 153.31, inclusive of VAT. In addition, the price of LPG supplied through privately owned reticulated gas systems has been reduced to Tk 274.50 per cubic meter from Tk 340.70.
The commission revised prices for other cylinder sizes as well. The new rates include Tk 1,591 for a 12.5kg cylinder, Tk 1,910 for 15kg, Tk 2,037 for 16kg, Tk 2,291 for 18kg, Tk 2,546 for 20kg, Tk 2,801 for 22kg, Tk 3,183 for 25kg, Tk 3,819 for 30kg, Tk 4,201 for 33kg, Tk 4,456 for 35kg and Tk 5,729 for a 45kg cylinder.
In a separate notification, BERC said the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has withdrawn value-added tax (VAT) at the LPG production stage and shifted VAT collection to the import stage. This change has been reflected in the latest price adjustment.
