The three-day 15th International Bangladesh Infrastructure Innovation and Development Expo and Dialogue 2026, along with the Dhaka Industrial Packaging Expo, concluded on a strong note, drawing wide attention to solar power, renewable energy, energy-efficient technologies, green construction solutions and modern packaging innovations.
Held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon, Dhaka, the exhibition attracted more than 8,000 business visitors over the three days, including industrial entrepreneurs, technology suppliers, garment sector representatives, sustainable agriculture entrepreneurs and delegates from various commercial organizations.
Organizers said visitor interest was especially strong in solar power, rooftop solar, renewable energy, energy-saving generator technology, eco-friendly construction materials, modern infrastructure solutions and sustainable packaging. Garment sector entrepreneurs showed particular interest in solar and renewable energy applications.
At the opening ceremony, Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmood said policy measures would be introduced within the month to support a target of 10,000 MW of solar power generation over the next five years. The announcement created renewed interest among entrepreneurs, technology providers and investors in the solar and renewable energy sectors.
He said reliable and affordable energy is essential to meet the demands of industrialization, investment, exports and urbanization. He stressed that Bangladesh must prioritize renewable energy, solar power, modern grids and energy efficiency to address global energy price volatility, import costs, foreign exchange pressure and climate risks.
Rashedul Haque, Managing Director of Exponet Exhibition, said the event was not only a product showcase but also a platform for business networking, technology exchange, investment opportunities and knowledge-based discussions.
He said the main goal was to bring together local and international companies from the power, energy, infrastructure, green construction and packaging sectors in one place. According to him, the strong visitor turnout and entrepreneur interest over the three days showed that the market for solar power, renewable energy, energy-efficient technologies and eco-friendly industrial solutions is expanding rapidly in Bangladesh.
Representatives from Omera Solar said reducing electricity costs in factories has become a major challenge, especially for garment manufacturers, many of whom showed interest in rooftop solar, hybrid energy solutions and long-term energy-saving systems.
They said government policy support for a 10,000 MW solar target over the next five years would encourage more investment in the sector and create greater opportunities for solar use in factories, commercial buildings and agricultural installations.
A garment sector visitor said cutting electricity costs has become a major concern for factories, adding that solar power and energy-efficient technologies could help reduce production costs.
A sustainable agriculture entrepreneur said solar power in irrigation, cold storage and agro-processing could make the sector more profitable and environmentally sustainable.
Around 140 companies from 12 countries participated in the exhibition, showcasing technologies and services related to power, energy, infrastructure development, green construction, industrial technology, packaging and environmentally friendly production systems.
At the same venue, the Dhaka Industrial Packaging Expo drew strong interest in eco-friendly, recyclable and export-oriented packaging technologies. Organizers said packaging is no longer just a product wrapper, but an important part of product quality, branding and global competitiveness.
The Dhaka Industrial Packaging Expo was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Flexible Packaging Industries Association and Exponet Exhibition Private Limited. Tampaco Group was the co-sponsor of the packaging expo, while RR Cable, Bright Powertek and Run Power Engineering sponsored the BIID Expo. Forum for Energy Reporters Bangladesh (FERB) served as the media partner for the three-day event.
Organizers said the expo created important opportunities for business networking, technology demonstration, investment dialogue and exchange on modern industrial solutions. They also noted that several special sessions were held with support from the Dubai International Chamber, the Export Promotion Bureau and the Business Promotion Council.
At the close of the event, organizers said Bangladesh is seeing new opportunities in solar power, renewable energy, energy-saving technologies, green construction and modern packaging. They added that future editions of the exhibition are expected to be held on a larger scale to help connect the country’s industrial sector more quickly with sustainable, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies.
