Bangladesh and China have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation, with a strong focus on energy, investment, and connectivity, following high-level talks between the two countries. Report UNB
Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman held bilateral discussions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on Wednesday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The talks covered a broad range of areas, including investment expansion, energy cooperation, infrastructure connectivity, people-to-people exchanges, and increased bilateral trade. Both sides also exchanged views on key regional and global issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the two countries reaffirmed their commitment to the Bangladesh-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and reiterated support for the One-China Principle.
Senior Bangladeshi officials present at the meeting included Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Ashiq Chowdhury, and Bangladesh Ambassador to China Md. Nazmul Islam.
Following the discussions, Wang Yi hosted a banquet in honour of the visiting Bangladeshi delegation, underscoring the growing diplomatic and economic ties between Dhaka and Beijing.
