Marine Power International FZC (MPI), a UAE based company providing OE spare parts & services for Gas & Diesel based power plants held a technical seminar at Pan Pacific Sonargaon on 22nd August, 2017 for the IPP/CPP industry of Bangladesh.

Manufacturers, who are direct suppliers to engine builders from Germany and Austria, graced the podium. More than 50 delegates attended the first of its kind event in the country, said a press release.

Delegates present represented stalwarts of the industry such as Summit Group, United Energy & Power Services Limited, Energypac, RPCL, Orion, KPCL, Raj Lanka Power Company Limited, Energis, Powerpac, Doreen Power, Baraka Power Limited were well represented by their top officials.

The MPI was represented by Mr. Satish Joshi, Director, Mr. Mahendra Chowdhary, Head Operation – Bangladesh, and their local Sales Manager.

Mr. Alfred Breuninger, Senior Manager -  Aftermarket Business - L’Orange GmbH who educated on areas affecting fuel injection parts & achieving better fuel economy in turn heat rate which shall help in Government revenue savings. Dr. E. Horn GmbH, represented by Sales Director – Mr. Elmar Hamm and Area Sales Manager Mr. Saeed Khavar. They also launched a new product to protect crankshaft from damages a very first for this market, which has plagued the industry. Mr. Andreas Kofler, Manager Services - Geislinger GmbH, discussed advantages of servicing dampers & coupling over pure exchange, instead of replacing which had been the industry practice so far. Mr. Harun Yigit - Technical Service & Sales Manager - IMES GmbH showed advantage of engine performance monitoring, and balancing.

The seminar included a mix of lectures, short films, technical sessions, and case studies through interaction with the participants. Discussions revolved around life cycle improvement, identification of genuine parts, trouble shooting, maintenance schedules & running the power plants more efficiently, reliably & economically.

The event was an opportunity for the speakers to have healthy discussion among the end users & address firsthand the problems of the delegates representing top technical brains of Power Plant industry from the country.

The seminar was concluded on a positive note, where MPI reiterated its promise to stand with the IPP’s & CPP’s of the country & holding such events in future more frequently for the benefits of the industry.
