The global Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) market is projected to grow from $12.19 billion in 2025 to $29.77 billion by 2034, registering a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.45%, according to Polaris Market Research.

Market growth is increasingly being driven by the modernization of existing systems rather than new installations. Utilities, water authorities and manufacturers are upgrading ageing infrastructure to improve operational efficiency, remote monitoring and cybersecurity.

The transition is particularly important for power grids, where ageing assets and the growing integration of renewable energy are increasing the need for advanced monitoring and control systems. Regulatory requirements and rising cyber threats are also encouraging operators to strengthen the security of critical infrastructure.

However, connecting legacy systems to digital platforms can increase cybersecurity risks. As a result, operators are increasingly favouring phased upgrades over complete system replacements to minimize disruption and manage operational risks.

Hybrid SCADA architecture is emerging as a key growth area, allowing time-critical control functions to remain on-site while monitoring, analytics and remote access are moved to cloud platforms. Hybrid deployments accounted for 18.60% of the market in 2025 and are forecast to grow at a CAGR of 12.74% through 2034.

On-premise systems retained the largest market share at 49.72% in 2025. Software accounted for 28.98% of offerings, while services are expected to grow at a 10.48% CAGR as system integration, migration and cybersecurity requirements become more complex.

The market outlook highlights growing investment opportunities in SCADA software, hybrid infrastructure, system integration and cybersecurity solutions for power, water and industrial operations.
