24th October 2026

DHAKA, October 24, 2026 — Adani Power Ltd, India’s largest private-sector thermal power producer, reported a 141.5% year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 7,019.32 crore (Tk 9,125.12 crore) in the July–September quarter of FY2026-27, driven by stronger electricity demand, higher tariffs and a one-time income boost.

Revenue from continuing operations rose 29.8% to Rs 17,014.06 crore (Tk 22,118.28 crore), while reported EBITDA increased 45.7% to Rs 8,743.22 crore (Tk 11,366.19 crore), including Rs 2,422.25 crore in prior-period income, mainly from revised historical energy charges under certain power purchase agreements.

India’s power demand grew 11.5% to 502 billion units during the quarter, while peak demand rose to 270 GW from 230 GW a year earlier. Adani Power’s plant load factor improved to 70.1% from 62.8%, and electricity sales increased to 26.4 billion units from 23.7 billion units.

However, fuel costs rose 41.8% to Rs 10,229.38 crore, reflecting higher generation and a 50% increase in the landed cost of imported coal.

The company is also expanding beyond thermal generation. It has entered the hydropower sector through a resolution bid for the 330 MW Alaknanda project in Uttarakhand and signed an agreement with Bhutan’s Druk Green Power Corporation for the 770 MW Chamkarchhu hydropower project.

Adani Power’s CEO, S. B. Khyalia, said the company remained focused on ensuring reliable electricity supplies to meet India’s growing baseload demand.
