The growing electricity demand of artificial intelligence (AI), high-density computing and GPU-powered data centers is driving investment in advanced power distribution, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, energy storage and on-site generation.

Grid connection delays are also prompting operators to explore gas generators, solar power, fuel cells and batteries to bring new capacity online faster. Energy generation is projected to be the fastest-growing solution segment, with a 13.5% CAGR through 2034.

Hyperscale operators accounted for 37.33% of the market in 2025, while colocation providers are increasing investment in power monitoring and modular systems to expand capacity efficiently. Predictive analytics, digital twins and AI-driven controls are also gaining importance in improving energy efficiency and reducing operating costs.

North America led the market in 2025, accounting for 38.58% of global revenue, valued at approximately $13.87 billion. Asia-Pacific is projected to record the fastest growth, at a 14.6% CAGR, with expanding data center capacity in China, India, Japan and Australia. Europe is also investing in efficient power systems amid tighter energy-performance requirements and grid constraints.

Major industry players are strengthening their portfolios through technology partnerships, acquisitions and integrated solutions combining power management, energy storage and on-site generation. Emerging technologies include high-voltage direct-current distribution and microgrid controls designed to address rising AI-related electricity demand.

However, high upfront costs, the complexity of retrofitting existing facilities, grid limitations and cybersecurity risks remain significant challenges.

The report highlights a fundamental shift in data center development: reliable electricity supply and efficient power management are becoming strategic priorities alongside computing capacity and cooling infrastructure.
