
Dhaka, May 14, 2022 (PR) - Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), a state-owned financial institution Celebrated its Silver Jubilee in May 13 Friday.
IDCOL launched its operation on May 14, 1997. Since its inception, the company has been playing an important role in infrastructure development and implementation of renewable energy projects in Bangladesh. At present, IDCOL is the leading financial institution in the country in project financing in all these sectors.
An event was organized at Hotel Le Méridien in Dhaka to mark the silver jubilee of the establishment of IDCOL. Speaking on the occasion, Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director and CEO of IDCOL, said that the journey of IDCOL started 25 years ago today with a small team and a paid-up capital of BDT 1 lakh. He said “At present, IDCOL's asset portfolio stands at about USD 1 billion and its paid-up capital stands at BDT 636 crore. IDCOL has been widely acclaimed at home and abroad for its activities.” He thanked all the stakeholders for following the path of IDCOL.
Fatima Yasmin, Secretary of Economic Relations Division and Chairman of IDCOL, said in her speech that the participation of the private sector is essential for the sustainable development of Bangladesh. IDCOL has implemented its projects and programs through public-private partnerships involving the private sector, which has led to this success. Referring to IDCOL's future plans, she hoped that IDCOL would be able to double its asset portfolio in the next five years and expand its activities beyond the country.
Among the members of the Board of Directors Abdur Rauf Talukder, Senior Secretary, Finance Division, Md. Tofazzal Hossain Mia, Senior Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office, Md. Habibur Rahman, Secretary, Power Division and representatives of various corporate houses participated in the event.
