Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) has sought 20 kathas of land in the capital’s Green Road from Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) for ensuring uninterrupted power supply to Sangsad Bhaban and other important places of the city.

DPDC issued a letter to the BWDB as well as the ministry concerned for taking necessary approval in this regard.

“We’ve already sought the land for several times and now seek the ministry’s intervention in this regard,” DPDC managing director (MD) Bikash Dewan said. He said the DPDC will able to construct 132/33/11 kilo-voltage sub-station that will help the main load centre of the power distribution company.

Now, DPDC works to ensure uninterrupted power supply at it’s service areas through 26 33/11KV sub-station and 14 132/33/11 KV sub-stations.

“We’ve a plan to construct a new base centre at the proposed land at Green Road to ensure smooth power supply at Sangsad Bhaban, Ganobhaban, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College, Dhaka Medical College, MP Hostel and other important government offices,” the DPDC MD said.
