The government has decided to keep retail prices of fuel oil unchanged in September, allowing consumers to purchase diesel, kerosene, petrol and octane at the existing rates.

According to a notification issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division on Monday, the current pricing structure will remain effective throughout September.

Under the existing rates, diesel will be sold at Tk 115 per liter, kerosene at Tk 135, petrol at Tk 140 and octane at Tk 145 per liter.

The current prices were initially fixed through a notification issued on May 31, 2026, and have remained unchanged during July and August.

The government periodically reviews domestic fuel prices based on fluctuations in international oil markets under the country’s automated fuel pricing formula. The mechanism is intended to align local fuel prices more closely with global market movements while reducing the need for frequent administrative adjustments.
