GENNEVILLIERS, France, July 21 (PR) - Exide Technologies has published its ESG Report 2026, outlining significant progress in advancing its sustainability agenda and reaffirming its commitment to responsible battery manufacturing and long-term environmental stewardship.
The company said the latest report demonstrates how sustainability has become increasingly integrated into its business operations, governance framework and strategic decision-making, with measurable progress in climate action, circular economy initiatives, responsible sourcing, workforce development and corporate governance.
Prepared in broad alignment with the latest European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the report underscores Exide Technologies’ commitment to transparency, accountability and continuous improvement in environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance.
The report is organized around the three pillars of the company’s Sustainability Strategy, highlighting key sustainability issues, associated risks and opportunities, corporate policies, actions, performance indicators and long-term targets.
Among the major achievements highlighted in the report, Exide regained the EcoVadis Gold sustainability rating, placing it among the top 2 percent of companies assessed worldwide and within the top 1 percent of the global battery manufacturing industry. The company also improved its CDP ratings for both Climate Change and Water Security from C (Awareness) to B (Management).
The report also notes a 21 percent reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions compared with the FY2022 baseline. The share of recycled or recovered materials used in manufacturing increased from 74 percent to 77 percent, reflecting the company’s continued focus on circular economy practices.
Exide Technologies also expanded its renewable energy investments during the reporting period, including the construction of its sixth photovoltaic installation in Spain. In addition, the company has committed to developing near-term greenhouse gas reduction targets aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
According to the company, these achievements demonstrate continued progress in implementing its long-term sustainability strategy while creating value for customers, employees, business partners and the communities where it operates.
