DHAKA, August 7, 2026 - The Bangladesh government has approved the purchase of one liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo from Aramco Trading Singapore Pte. Ltd. under a government-to-government (G2G) arrangement through the direct procurement method. Report BSS
The approval was given at the eighth meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase for fiscal year 2026-27, held virtually on Friday. Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury chaired the meeting.
According to the Cabinet Division, the LNG cargo is scheduled for delivery on August 11-12, 2026.
The government will pay US$21.55 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) for the LNG cargo.
