Dhaka, June 3, 2026: A delegation from Mitsui & Co., one of Japan’s leading trading and investment companies, met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday to discuss investment opportunities and business expansion in Bangladesh. Report UNB
The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office, focused on potential investments in key sectors including food, agriculture, energy and information and communication technology (ICT).

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining an investment-friendly environment and providing maximum support to foreign investors. He also highlighted the introduction of a one-stop service system aimed at simplifying business procedures and accelerating project implementation.
The Mitsui delegation was led by Makoto Sato, CEO and Executive Vice-President for the Asia-Pacific region. Senior government officials, including Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and Finance Secretary Md Khairuzzaman Majumder, were also present.
Mitsui operates globally across a wide range of sectors, including energy, infrastructure, logistics, metals and food trading.
