31st May 2026

Dhaka, May 31, 2026 — The government has increased the retail prices of octane, petrol and kerosene by Tk5 per liter for June, while keeping diesel prices unchanged.

According to a notification issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division on Sunday, the revised fuel prices will take effect from June 1.

Under the new pricing structure, the price of octane has been raised to Tk145 per litre from Tk140, while petrol will now cost Tk140 per liter, up from Tk135. Kerosene prices have also been increased by Tk5 to Tk135 per liter.

However, the price of diesel, the country’s most widely used fuel, remains unchanged at Tk115 per liter.

The Energy Division said the latest adjustments were made in line with movements in the international petroleum market and changes in global fuel prices.

With the revised rates, octane remains the most expensive fuel in the domestic market, priced Tk5 higher than petrol and Tk30 above diesel.

The latest revision marks the first increase in fuel prices after several months of relative stability. Officials said the monthly pricing mechanism continues to reflect trends in the international oil market.

The new fuel prices came into effect on Monday (June 1).
