Moheshkhali, August 14, 2026 (PR) — Summit LNG Terminal has commenced supplying approximately 110 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of regasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) to Bangladesh’s national gas grid at 6:10 pm providing much-needed additional gas supply at a time of continuing shortages. It is expected to gradually bring up to full speed of 550 MMCFD supply approximately at 2 am on 15th August 2026.
The increased supply is expected to help improve gas availability for industries, power generation and other consumers, supporting economic activity and reducing pressure on the country’s energy system.
Summit LNG remains committed to maintaining safe and reliable operations and maximizing gas delivery within the technical capacity of the terminal and the national transmission system.
Summit believes that ensuring adequate and uninterrupted energy supply is essential for Bangladesh’s industrial growth, employment and economic development.
The company will continue working closely with Petrobangla and the Government of Bangladesh to support the country’s energy security and help alleviate gas shortages.
