DHAKA, Aug 6: The government has appointed Md. Ziaul Haque, currently an Additional Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division (EMRD), as the new Secretary of the division following his promotion.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification to this effect on Thursday. Md. Ziaul Haque will succeed Mohammad Saiful Islam, who has served as Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division since October 7, 2024.
In a separate notification, the government transferred Mohammad Saiful Islam to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, where he will take up his new assignment.
Before his promotion, Md. Ziaul Haque served as an Additional Secretary at the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, overseeing key administrative and coordination responsibilities.
The latest reshuffle comes as the Energy and Mineral Resources Division continues to implement key reforms and oversee strategic initiatives in Bangladesh’s energy, gas and mineral resources sectors.
