JASHORE, July 25, 2026 - State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit has said gas supply across the country is expected to return to normal soon as efforts are underway to fix a technical fault at one of the country’s Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs).
Speaking at a discussion in Jashore on Saturday, the state minister said the disruption was temporary and that Petrobangla and the FSRU operator were working jointly to complete repairs. He added that the energy ministry was monitoring the situation round the clock.
Amit said gas pressure at power plants, industries, households and CNG filling stations would gradually improve once the repairs are completed.
He explained that imported LNG is regasified through the country’s two FSRUs before being supplied to the national gas grid, making their uninterrupted operation vital for electricity generation, industrial production and household consumption.
The state minister expressed optimism that normal gas supply would be restored shortly.
