Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) has planned financing of Tk 7,245 crore to promote entrepreneurship in cottage and microenterprise sectors and expand renewable energy use, including rooftop solar power generation.

At a meeting of its Board of Directors at PKSF Bhaban-1, chaired by PKSF Chairman Zakir Ahmed Khan, the board approved Tk 5,000 crore in Bangladesh Bank-financed loans to support new entrepreneurs in cottage and microenterprises.

The funding will cover technology-driven agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing, services and grassroots value-chain activities to generate employment and strengthen low-income communities.

PKSF has also launched a specialized rooftop solar financing program backed by a Tk 500 crore government allocation. The board approved a lending policy titled Shouro Shokti, under which loans will be provided to customers through partner organizations at an interest rate of 6%.

In addition, the board approved nearly Tk 2,000 crore in loans for PKSF’s partner organizations to support cluster-based microenterprises, general services, ultra-poor communities, agriculture and other sectors.
