DHAKA, November 1, 2026 — Bangladesh’s gas supply is expected to face a temporary shortage and low pressure nationwide as Summit FSRU at Maheshkhali undergoes emergency maintenance.
According to Petrobangla, regasification operations at the terminal will remain suspended from 8:00am on November 4 until 4:00pm on November 7, 2026, for urgent maintenance work.
During the shutdown, national gas supply is expected to fall by 320 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD), from the current 920 MMCFD to around 600 MMCFD.
As a result, consumers across the country may experience lower gas pressure and temporary supply disruptions during the maintenance period.
The notice said a similar short-duration maintenance operation was carried out in December 2025.
The authorities expressed regret over the temporary inconvenience to consumers and requested their understanding during the maintenance work.
