Dhaka, October 3, 2026: Developing countries such as Bangladesh are being forced to pay a heavy price for geopolitical rivalries among major powers, despite having no involvement in many of the conflicts, Information Minister Andalib Rahman Partha said. Report Barta24.com
He said countries at the consumer end of global energy markets are being compelled to purchase fuel at three to four times higher prices because of the impact of wars and geopolitical tensions.
The minister made the remarks on Saturday afternoon while speaking at a leadership forum titled “The Future of Asia” at the Bay of Bengal Conversation 2026, held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.
