About three lakh liters of illegally stored fuel has been recovered in countrywide drives conducted by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division. Report BSS
The fuel was recovered during mobile court drives conducted from March 3 to 30 to ensure proper management of fuel.
According to the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, a total of 2,96,305 liters of fuel have been recovered. Of the amount, 207,365 liters were diesel, 28,938 liter were octane and 60,002 liters are petrol.
Officials at the Energy and Mineral Resources Division said such drives have been intensified to prevent artificial fuel crisis through illegal storage, smuggling and supply.
Strict action is being taken against those, who are violating the law, through regular supervision and mobile courts.
The drives will continue to maintain normal supply of fuel in the market and protect the interests of customers, they said.
