Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo held a meeting with Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director Hoe Yun Jeong at his office in the Bangladesh Secretariat on March 30.
The meeting focused on developing the framework of the Bangladesh Climate Development Partnership (BCDP) and identifying strategies and mechanisms to mobilize climate finance under the initiative.
During the discussion, the minister said that both domestic and international funds would be utilized to implement projects related to climate change adaptation and mitigation. He expressed hope that the BCDP would play a significant role in addressing climate challenges and sought strong support from ADB in this regard.
ADB Country Director Hoe Yun Jeong noted that the BCDP would help strengthen partnerships for climate financing, accelerate policy reforms, enhance capacity for developing innovative climate projects, and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Environment Secretary Md Rayhan Kawsar and other senior officials from the ministry were also present at the meeting.
The meeting ended with a shared commitment to advancing collaboration on climate finance and sustainable development initiatives in Bangladesh.
