
Mymensingh, Sept 8, 2020 (BSS)- The power supply has been restored in Jamalpur, Sherpur and Netrakona districts in Mymensingh division.
The power in Mymensingh district has come partially, locals said.
Earlier, a fire broke out at Mymensingh city’s Kewatkhali Power Grid and as a result, the power supply of the entire Mymensingh division was gone this noon.
Fire at Mymensingh power grid leaves entire division without electricity
Earlier a fire at Mymensingh city's Kewatkhali Power Grid has snapped power supply in the entire Mymensingh division since this noon.
The division includes Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Sherpur and Netrakona districts.
The fire broke out around 1:00pm from a transformer of the grid that later spread out, said Md Abul Hossain, deputy director of Fire Service and Civil Defence in Mymensingh. The incident might have occurred due to electric short circuit, said the official, reports our Mymensingh correspondent.
On information, fire fighters from the city rushed to the spot immediately and brought the fire under control after two and half hours of frantic efforts, said the official. Losses due to the fire could not be assessed immediately, he added. No casualties were reported.
