Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md Atiqul Islam recently said as part of the cleanliness campaign, all overhead cable garbage will be removed from Dhaka city.
“Overhead wires have been creating hazard for the city dwellers, so we have taken decision to remove these cables from the city,” he said after inauguration of a drive to remove hanging cables from roads at Gulshan-2 square in the city.
Removal of cable garbage started on October 1 as DNCC mayor earlier announced to free the city from illegal hanging cables.
DNCC Chief Executive Officer Md Selim Reza, Secretary Mozammel Haque and Chief Engineer Brigadier General Amirul Islam were present on the occasion, among others.
