The government has started analyzing data as part of its oil and gas exploration program after settling the maritime boundary disputes with India and Myanmar, a state minister told parliament recently.
“Currently, work on data analysis is going on,” State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid informed the House in a written answer.
He said work on oil and gas exploration started in four blocks in deep and sallow sea under four Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) with five companies.
The state minister also said some seismic surveys have already been finished.
