The government has raised the retail prices of four major petroleum products by Tk 20 per liter, effective Sunday.

Under the new prices, diesel will sell at Tk 135 per liter, kerosene at Tk 155, octane at Tk 165 and petrol at Tk 160.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division announced the new prices in a gazette notification signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md Enamul Haque on Sunday.

The prices had remained unchanged in September, with diesel selling at Tk 115 per liter, kerosene at Tk 135, octane at Tk 145 and petrol at Tk 140.

The last major adjustment was made in April, when diesel rose by Tk 15 per litre, while the prices of octane, petrol and kerosene increased by Tk 20, Tk 19 and Tk 18, respectively.

Retail fuel prices have been reviewed under the country’s automatic pricing mechanism since 2024. The system takes into account international oil prices, import costs, taxes and duties, exchange rates and other related expenses when determining domestic prices.
