Dhaka, 11 October 2026: Bangladesh and Algeria are exploring opportunities to strengthen bilateral energy cooperation, with potential memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) among the key areas of discussion.

 

Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Iqbal Hassan Mahmood met Algerian Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr. Abdelouahab Saïdani at the Ministry’s office on Sunday afternoon to discuss the proposed cooperation and preparations for the minister’s upcoming visit to Algeria.

 

The meeting reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to strengthening their longstanding relations, promoting mutual interests and expanding cooperation in the energy sector.

 

Secretary, EMRD Md. Ziaul Huq was also present during the meeting.
