Dhaka, April 2, 2026 - The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has been significantly increased at the consumer level, as the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) raised the cost of a 12 kg cylinder by Tk 387 for April.
According to a BERC announcement issued this afternoon, the new price of a 12 kg LPG cylinder has been set at Tk 1,728, up from Tk 1,341. The revised rates came into effect from 6:00 pm the same day.
The regulator also fixed the retail price of private LPG, including VAT, at Tk 144.04 per kg.
Updated cylinder prices are as follows:
· 5.5 kg: Tk 792
· 12.5 kg: Tk 1,801
· 15 kg: Tk 2,161
· 16 kg: Tk 2,305
· 18 kg: Tk 2,593
· 20 kg: Tk 2,881
For larger cylinders:
· 22 kg: Tk 3,169
· 25 kg: Tk 3,601
· 30 kg: Tk 4,321
· 33 kg: Tk 4,753
· 35 kg: Tk 5,041
· 45 kg: Tk 6,428
In March, LPG prices remained unchanged in the local market. Earlier, on February 23, the price of a 12 kg cylinder had been reduced by Tk 15 to Tk 1,341, which remained effective until this latest adjustment.
Meanwhile, the price of autogas has also been increased for April. The VAT-inclusive retail price has been set at Tk 79.77 per liter, marking a rise of Tk 17.94. Previously, on March 2, autogas prices were slightly reduced by Tk 0.03 to Tk 61.83 per liter at the consumer level.
