December 22, 2025 (PR) - A contract was signed today, at the Boardroom of the Bangladesh Oil, Gas & Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla) between Petrobangla and Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory Limited (BMTF) to implement the project titled “Design, Development, Implementation, Commissioning and Maintenance of a GPS Location-Based Gas Meter and Metering Station Monitoring Management System.” The system will be deployed across Petrobangla’s gas production and marketing companies.
The contract signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Md. Rezanur Rahman, Chairman of Petrobangla, and Major General Md. Naheed Asgar, BSP, NDC, AFWC, PSC, Managing Director of BMTF. On behalf of Petrobangla, the agreement was signed by Mr. Md. Amzad Hossain, Secretary (Senior General Manager), while Lt. Colonel A. S. M. Fakhrul Islam Chowdhury, PSC, EB signed on behalf of BMTF.
The event was also attended by Directors of Petrobangla, senior officials of BMTF, and the Managing Director of TGTDPL.
Through the implementation of this project, gas pressure, temperature, and consumption data of industrial establishments under Petrobangla’s distribution companies will be digitally monitored. The system will help prevent unauthorized access to RMS rooms, resolve pulse-missing issues, curb excessive load usage, and enhance operational control. Moreover, the integration of AI/LLM-based technologies will facilitate future automation of the billing system, enable area-wise gas supply management, and allow category-based measurement of gas consumption.
