The Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant (MSTPP) of BIFPCL (Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company Ltd), a JV of BPDB and NTPC at Rampal has achieved a remarkable national milestone by generating 700 MkH of electricity in November 2025 — the highest monthly generation by any power plant in Bangladesh. This historic performance stands as a testament to MSTPP’s exceptional operational excellence and reliability.
Throughout the month, MSTPP consistently supported the national grid by contributing nearly 11.5% of Bangladesh’s total electricity demand, thereby reinforcing its position as the country’s foremost power generator.
This milestone also reflects the plant’s superb industrial capability, efficient coal and asset management, and meticulous financial and operational planning. MSTPP has been delivering over 600 MkH or about 8% of Bangladesh’s total electricity demand regularly, and the November achievement sets a new benchmark in the nation’s power sector.
