Dhaka, June 24, 2025 (PR) - LafargeHolcim Bangladesh PLC. (LHB) and Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Limited (JGTDSL) have signed two new Gas Sales Agreements (One for Industry and other for Captive Power) today at Bidyut Bhaban in Dhaka. Under the new GSAs, JGTDSL will supply total 16 MMSCFD gas for ten years effective from January 18, 2026.
Mohammad Iqbal Chowdhury, CEO of LHB, and Jitendra Kumar Das, Company Secretary of JGTDSL have signed the GSAs on behalf of their respective organizations. The signing ceremony was graced by Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources as the Chief Guest. Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) was present as the Special Guest. The signing ceremony was chaired by Mohammad Saiful Islam, Secretary of Energy and Mineral Resources Division. Besides Michael Miller, Head of Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh, Reto Renggli, Ambassador of Switzerland, Gabriel Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru, Ambassador of Spain, Md. Rezanur Rahman, Chairman of Petrobangla, Managing Director of JGTDSL, high officials from Energy and Mineral Resources Division, BIDA, Petrobangla, JGTDSL and LHB were present in the signing ceremony.
