Dhaka, July 3, 2024 (PR) - Omera Renewable Energy Limited, a subsidiary of East Coast Group Company, on Wednesday (July 3) signed an agreement with BEXIMCO Group, a leading business conglomerate in Bangladesh, to install a 9.23 MW Grid-Tied Rooftop Solar System at BEXIMCO Industrial Park, Gazipur.
The Power Purchase Agreement was signed at East Coast Centre in Gulshan 1 in Dhaka as Omera Solar has been leading the way in line with the government’s policy to increase electricity production from green sources in the country.
Ms. Dilruba Chowdhury, Director, East Coast Group and Mr. Anil Kumar Maheshwari, Chief Financial Officer, Beximco Textiles Division signed the 20-year Power Purchase Contract. Mr. Amin Sabir Khan, Executive Director, Power Generation, Distribution and Utility; Mr. Saqib Shakoor, Executive Director of BEXIMCO and Mr. Masudur Rahim, Chief Executive Officer; AKH Hasif Sowdagar, FCMA, FCA, Chief Financial Officer; Capt. Minhazur Reza Chowdhury, Chief Operating Officer; Khan Ashique Rahman, Manager and Umme Jahan Mishi, Asst. Manager of East Coast Group was present during the signing ceremony along with the project working and communication team.
Omera Solar with an aim of ‘Go green Today For A Brighter Tomorrow’ has already installed more than 60 MW of Rooftop Solar System on different industrial rooftops.
Omera Solar will install 9.23 MW Solar System which will generate 10.78 GWh of Clean Electricity each year which will ensure BDT 104.46 million financial savings yearly across electricity bills for BEXIMCO ensuring 7,223 tons of CO2 emissions reduction, each year.
This enthusiastic move of BEXIMCO inspires various factories around Bangladesh and many are now tagging hands with Omera Solar for the highly appreciated state-of-the-art solar system that will ensure a green and clean environment. With the reduced utility cost of business infrastructures, rooftop solar system is the wheel to move towards the nation’s vision of sustainability.
