Speakers at a program in the city recently observed that youths can play important role in protection of environment.
They also underscored the need for involving the youth in the green movement to achieve the country's development goals since they are the future leaders.
They were addressing a daylong training program titled 'Youth environmental activists leadership' organized by Poribesh Bachao Andolon (POBA) at its office in the city, a statement said.
Vice Chancellor of Stamford University Bangladesh Prof Mohammad Ali Naqi inaugurated the training program, in which 50 youths took place.
POBA chairman Abu Naser Khan presided over the function while its general secretary Md Abdus Sobhan and secretary M A Wahed were present, among others.
