Fugro will provide subsea support for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)’s deepwater drilling campaign offshore India under a three-year contract awarded by Vantage International Management Co.
Fugro will deploy its FCV3000 remotely operated vehicle (ROV) aboard Vantage’s Platinum Explorer drillship to support drilling and completion operations in water depths of up to 3,000 meters.
The services will cover subsea installation and intervention, drilling and completion support, blowout preventer and well-control monitoring, cementing observation and seabed inspection.
ONGC chartered the Platinum Explorer earlier this year for a three-year offshore drilling campaign, with options for extension.
The program is part of the company’s efforts to expand deepwater exploration, boost domestic oil and gas production and strengthen India’s energy security.
