Bangladesh and the United States recently discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, including LNG, LPG, business engagement and government-to-government collaboration.

The issues came up when Eric Geelan, Political and Economic Counsellor at the US Embassy in Dhaka, called on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood at the ministry.

Geelan was accompanied by US Embassy Economic Officer Joseph Boski.

The two sides reviewed opportunities to expand energy cooperation, including the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize collaboration and identify priority areas of mutual interest.
