Bangladesh has invited international oil and gas companies to participate in its Offshore Bidding Round 2026, offering 26 blocks in the Bay of Bengal, including 11 shallow-water and 15 deep-water blocks.
The investment opportunity was highlighted at a ministerial session on the Strategic Stage of the World Energies Summit in London recently.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit said rising energy demand amid economic growth had made increased domestic exploration and production a priority.
Invest Bangladesh Chairman Ashik Chowdhury outlined the country’s economic outlook, investment facilitation measures and offshore resource potential.
He also highlighted the availability of modern seismic data and the commercial terms offered under the Offshore Model Production Sharing Contract (PSC) 2026.
The Bangladesh delegation urged prospective investors to review the available geological and seismic data and contact the government and Petrobangla for further information on participating in the bidding process.
