The Bangladesh Geological Society (BGS) Executive Committee for the term 2025–2026 assumed office on February 8, 2025.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the University of Dhaka, where the new committee, led by President Dr. Badrul Imam and General Secretary Dr. Anwar Zahid, officially took charge.
The event was attended by renowned geologists from the country, professionals from various sectors, and academics. Discussions focused on Bangladesh’s geological research and its future directions.
As the chief guest, Advisor Minister of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, emphasized the government’s commitment to geological research and development.
He highlighted the importance of the Bangladesh Geological Society in shaping policies related to mineral resources and sustainable land management.
