Dhaka, September 8, 2026: The Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) and Everlast Minerals Limited (EML) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote research, development and sustainable utilization of Bangladesh’s mineral sand resources.
BAEC Chairman Dr M. Moinul Islam and EML Managing Director Delwar Hossain Titu signed the agreement at the Ministry of Science and Technology in Dhaka. Ministry Secretary Md Anwar Hossain attended the ceremony as chief guest.
Under the MoU, the two organizations will conduct joint research, exchange knowledge and explore technology transfer opportunities. They will analyze mineral sand samples from riverine and coastal areas, particularly in Bhola, Patuakhali and Noakhali.
The Institute of Nuclear Geological Sciences (INGS) under BAEC will lead field and laboratory activities, while Everlast will provide drilling rigs and vessels when required.
The partnership will also cover mineral separation, quality and composition analysis, upgrading technologies, and research into industrial applications of mineral sands.
