The government has fixed new prices of jet fuel for March at the consumer level. Report BSS
The price of jet fuel for domestic flights has been set at Tk 112.41 per liter including duty and VAT, according to an order issued by the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC).
On the other hand, the price for international flights operated by domestic and foreign airlines has been fixed at 73 cents per liter, excluding duty and VAT.
BERC issued a notification in this regard this afternoon, saying the newly announced prices will come into effect from 12 midnight tonight.
According to the notification, the decision was taken following a public hearing and detailed review and analysis based on proposals submitted by Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL) under Sections 34 (4) and 34 (6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003.
It said that the prices for domestic and international flights were determined at the consumer level considering the average published Platts rate of jet fuel from February 5 to March 4, in line with Clause 9.2 of BERC Order No. 2025/08 issued on May 13 last year.
