The government has decided to keep fuel prices unchanged at the consumer level in July, based on the revised pricing formula and guidelines.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Sunday, the prices will remain fixed at Tk 102 per liter for diesel, Tk 114 for kerosene, Tk 122 for octane, and Tk 118 for petrol.
The new rates, which will come into effect from July 1, have been fixed and approved by relevant authorities, the ministry said.
Earlier in June, the price of diesel was reduced from Tk 104 to Tk 102 per liter, petrol from Tk 121 to Tk 118 and octane from Tk 125 to Tk 122.
The kerosene price was, however, increased by Tk 10 to Tk 114 per liter then.
On June 24, Energy Adviser Fouzul Kabir Khan said the government had no plan to raise fuel prices at home, despite a slight increase in global oil prices due to Middle East tensions.
On June 17, Finance Adviser Salehuddin said the government is closely monitoring the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel but has no immediate plan to raise fuel prices.
