DHAKA, Oct 7, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) and Rupali Bank signed agreement to ease electricity bill payment.
Now, BREB’s customers can pay their electricity bills easily through Rupali Bank’s subsidiary SureCash mobile banking.
Md. Asafuddowla, Secretary of BREB and Mohammed Kawsar Mustafiz, Deputy General Manager of Rupali Bank put pen on the agreement paper at a ceremony at BREB headquarters, said a release today.
Md. Obayed Ullah Al Masud, Managing Director of Rupali Bank said, nearly 20 million customers are living across the country and most of them are customers of BREB. Now, they will be able to pay their electricity bills from their own mobile wallet, he added.
Dr. Shahadat Khan, CEO of SureCash said, “Rupali Bank SureCash is one of the largest digital payment services in the country and we are delighted to add rural electricity bill payment services for our customers.”
Currently, BREB is providing electricity to 27 million customers and it is playing a vital role in the socio-economic development of the country.
