
Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) of 12 kg cylinder at retailer level by Taka 28 which would be sold at Taka 1,450 instead of Taka 1478.
“The newly fixed price of LPG is Taka 1,450, which was Taka 1,478. It will be effective from today (Monday) . . . all LPG marketing companies will implement the new price,” BERC chairman Jalal Ahmed told a media briefing.
The regulatory commission chief said the BERC also re-fixed the prices of auto gas at Taka 66.43 per liter, reducing the amount by Taka 1.43
The BERC also issued a statement elaborating Ahmed’s comments saying in terms of weight per kilogram of LPG would be sold from now on at Taka 120.81 at retailer level.
According to the BERC decision, new price at retailer level owned by private sector, LPG cylinders of 5.5 kg has been fixed at Tk. 664, 12.5 kg LPG at Tk. 1510, 15 kg at Tk. 1,812, 16 kg at Tk. 1,933, 18 kg at Tk. 2,175, 20 kg at Tk. 2,416, 22 kg at Tk. 2,658, 25 kg at Tk. 3,020, 30 kg at Tk. 3,624, 33 kg at Tk. 3,987, 35 kg at Tk. 4,228 and 45 kg at Tk. 5,436.
The statement said the price was re-fixed in line with the readjustment international market as Saudi Aramco has slashed the official selling prices for propane and butane for March.
The new prices are set at $615 per tonne for propane and $605 per tonne for butane.
