A fire triggered by a gas cylinder explosion in a bus left at least seven workers injured in Gazipur recently.
The incident occurred when the bus of Charka Textile reached Som Bazar in Tumliya union of Kaliganj upazila. According to Kaliganj police, 25 workers were on board at the time.
The names of the injured were not immediately known. However, they were treated at Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. Among them, Amena, wife of Badsha Mia from the Bahar Market area of Tongi, sustained serious injuries and was transferred to Dhaka for advanced treatment.
Inspector (Investigation) Ashraful Islam of Kaliganj Police Station confirmed the incident, saying that several workers were injured in the panic as they rushed to escape the burning bus.
