A woman and her son died from electrocution while saving a cow in Kaliganj Upazila of Lalmonirhat recently. The cow also died on the spot.
The incident took place at Dulali Harikhowa village of Goral union.
Police and locals said that during the rain, a cow of the family suddenly entered another room of the house, where a battery-powered auto-rickshaw was being charged. The cow came into contact with a live charging wire and was electrocuted.
Jamal, the son, rushed to rescue the cow and was also electrocuted.
Hearing his screams, his mother Kamala tried to save him but was similarly electrocuted.
Other family members quickly turned off the electricity, but both Jamal and Kamala had already died on the spot, police said.
