PTTEP has increased gas production from the G1/61 project in the Gulf of Thailand to 800 MMcf/d, the company said in a first-quarter 2024 results statement.
The development produces gas from the Erawan, Funan, Platong and Satun fields. PTTEP plans to add further wellhead platforms with continuous drilling of new wells to sustain production capacity.
In addition, the company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Asian Institute of Technology as part of the PTTEP Subsurface University Energy Connect initiative. The collaboration will involve joint research study on geoscience and petroleum engineering, development of professionals in petroleum exploration and production, and exploration for carbon storage sites.
Previously, PTTEP signed MoUs with Chulalongkorn University, Chiang Mai University, Khon Kaen University, Mahidol University, Kasetsart University, Synchrotron Light Research Institute, and Suranaree University of Technology.
