Consumers, specially people with low income in Dinajpur, Rangpur and Joypurhat have been struggling hard as prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders have shot up recently.
Price of each cylinder started soaring since the beginning of this month and has gone up by Tk 130 to Tk 150 in local markets, traders said.
According to the traders in the three districts, usually LPG cylinders of different companies like Jamuna, Basundhara and Omera are available in the markets.
Traders said now a cylinder with 12 kilograms of LP gas is being sold between Tk 1,050 and Tk 1,100 while it was selling at Tk 930 to Tk 950 only a couple of weeks ago.
“The sudden hike of LP gas cylinder prices is a matter of concern for the middle income group families like us,” said a consumer.
