DHAKA, July 14, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today urged all officials concerned for ensuring uninterrupted services to clients in the coming days.

 

“Success would have to come, if you ensure uninterrupted services in the coming days,” he said this while receiving the crest and certificate at the ministry.

 

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the crest and certificate to the power division secretary for securing the first position in the implementation of the Annual Performance Agreement (APA) yesterday at the Prime Minister’s Office.

 

The state minister said people are getting electricity but they are getting irritated when power supply is being halted, adding, “Efforts would have to continue for ensuring uninterrupted power supply.”

 

“It is necessary to explore primary energy and increase diversification of energy use. If we have team work in all works then mistakes would occur few,” he said.

 

He also expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and energy advisor Dr Towfiq-e-Elahi, Bir Bikram and urged all officials to concentrate more for maintaining path of progress in the future.

 

“It is necessary to ensure coordination between distribution and transmission management in the power sector for smooth supply of electricity,” Nasrul added.

 

The power division occupied the first position with getting 98.15 numbers in the APA activities implementation in 2017-2018 financial year.

 

A total of 44 agreements were signed, of which 39 got excellent number, one the best number and three normal number.

 

Meanwhile, the energy and mineral resources division occupied the third position in the annual performance agreement.

 

Power Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, BPDB Chairman Engineer Khaled Mahmud and Power Cell Director General Engineer Mohammad Hossain were present.
