A massive fire that broke out at Sylhet's Kumargaon Power Station has been brought under control.

 

Seven units of Fire Service and Civil Defence managed to douse the fire around 12:45pm which originated at 11:30am, Sylhet Fire Service deputy assistant director Shawkat Ali confirmed.

 

But the reason behind the fire incident yet not clear and there has no electricity connection in entire Sylhet since then, Shawkat Ali added.

 

Mokammel Hossain, chief engineer of Sylhey Power Supply Division, said, "Two transformers were already burnt down by the fire. The fire fighters are trying to cool the machine for connecting the electricity line."
