Dhaka, January 16, 2020 (PR) - Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) signed facility agreement with Thengamara Mohila Sabuj Sangha (TMSS) to finance first Rooftop Solar Project in Bogura at TMSS cold storage & TMSS Public School & College with a cumulative capacity of 484.44 kWp. Electricity produced from this project will not only reduce electricity bills of TMSS but also reduce the diesel consumption during load shedding. In addition, the project owners can export unutilized electricity generated from the project to national grid through Net Metering Guideline 2018. Currently the unit cost of electricity from rooftop solar falls below BDT 8 and this makes the investment very lucrative. The project will be implemented with a total project cost of BDT 3.39 crore. Under this facility agreement IDCOL will provide concessional loan of BDT 2.71 crore. IDCOL plans to finance 300 MW of electricity from solar rooftop by 2022.

Md. Enamul Karim Pavel, Head of Renewable Energy, IDCOL, Mohammed Jabed Emran, Chief Risk Officer, IDCOL, Farzana Rahman, Executive Vice President, IDCOL, and other officials of both the organizations were present in the signing ceremony.
