Dhaka, March 29, 2020 (EP) - Bashundhara Group, the country’s leading business conglomerate, has come forward with a donation of Tk 100 million to support the government amid the coronavirus outbreak.

 

The business group on Sunday donated Tk 100 million to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to help the government facing the upcoming challenges over the bug.

 

Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir handed over the cheque to Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Dr Ahmed Kaikaus at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the ceremony through a videoconferencing from her official residence Ganabhaban in the capital.

 

After handing over the cheque, Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir talked to the premier.

 

During the conversation, Sayem Sobhan Anvir proposed the premier for turning its trade centre and four convention centres as hospitals for treating the patients with coronavirus.

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina thanked the Bashundhara Group for its assistance to the government like previous years.

 

Besides the Bashundhara Group, some other business groups and organisations also donated fund, personal protection equipment and masks to the PM’s relief fund.
